Beings beyond horror walk the broken earth, ferocious past mortal measure. They kill for sport and devour at whim, stalking survivors and Soulless alike with equal malevolence.
Each year their numbers swell, and what they leave behind ceases to resemble the world that was.
Each resurgence refines them. What reemerges is more violent, more deliberate, and more malevolent than before, as if the world itself is complicit in their evolution, sharpening the threat with every failed attempt to end it.
Where the Exanimis take their lairs, the earth bends to their corruption. Stone softens into tooth, ground splits into throat, and the land itself becomes a maw waiting to close.
The longer such a place is held, the further reality unravels around it. Air thickens, distance falters, and what was once horizon collapses inward as mortals draw near.
The Exanimis appear as distorted reflections of what they once were, their forms mangled into beastlike silhouettes that mock the humanity the Divines once oversaw. Their voices fracture between Divine resonance and guttural growls, as if the conflict of higher will and feral corruption tears through the same ruined frame.
